Zavec Brothers, Lost & Found Orange, Haloze, Styria

Haloze, a high-quality wine-growing area in Štajerska (Styria), Slovenia, characterized by steep slopes and marl-rich soils that impart minerality to the wines. Lost & Found Orange is a skin-contact white field blend that typically includes a combination of local varieties such as Welschriesling (Laski Rizling), Sauvignon Blanc, Beli Pinot (Pinot Blanc/Gris), and Šipon (Furmint). The grapes undergo spontaneous wild fermentation with the skins for about 14 days, followed by malolactic fermentation, then matured on fine lees in used oak barrels for a year. 

On the nose you'll pick up notes of grapefruit, dried flowers, herbs, spices, elderflower, and honeyed nuts. The palate is complex with flavours of lemon, orange, dried apricot, white tea, and a distinctive salty minerality. 

Pairs well with roasted chicken in a creamy sauce, duck, goose, game birds, or even simple snacks like apricot or pistachio.
